Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing invites you to become a member! CCNATS is a vital part of Chicago's voice teaching community. Here are some of the ways in which CCNATS benefits its members:
- Resources for continued study of vocal pedagogy in the form of workshops, book groups and programs. Workshops address artistic and professional interests which may assist you in your teaching.
- Opportunities for networking with other teachers at the student auditions and social events.
- Workshops and annual student auditions provide your students with important chances to perform and receive constructive feedback.
- Winners of the annual student auditions receive scholarships and a performance opportunities.
- Membership in NATS provides a network for student referrals.
- Access to CCNATS mentorship program (new - see next section!)
- New within CCNATS:
- New member social event in the winter
- Classical and Musical Theater Auditions.
- Mentorship program - new members will have the option of participating in a mentorship program. For one year, a new member will be paired with an experienced existing member. The mentorship is flexible in structure, and could include lesson observation, business advising, pedagogical problem solving, attending NATS events together and professional support. Pairings will be made based on type of teaching, geographical location, etc. Participants are encouraged to shape the experience to their needs.
- Book club - casual gathering twice a year at a member's home to discuss a book about singing or performing.
- Monthly e-mailed newsletter with current NATS information about events and member news.
- New member meetings which welcome teachers to the organization.
Dues & Application Fees
It is a prerequisite that all members of Chicago Chapter NATS be members in good standing with the national organization of NATS. Local dues are $30 for two years. Please send your dues to Victoria Holland.
